Yokatapa Residents Delight in Warm Welcome for Habema’s ‘Rosita’ Program

INTAN JAYA - A heartwarming initiative from the Task Force Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad under the command of Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA brought smiles and joy to the residents of Yokatapa Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Soldiers conducted a meaningful program named “ROSITA” (Buy Up Farming Products) to support the local economy during their routine border patrol duties.

The Holomama Post team, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, took proactive steps to assist the local farmers by purchasing and utilizing their agricultural products directly from the Yokatapa Market. This effort aligns with the directive of the Task Force Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, who emphasized the importance of addressing community challenges as part of their mission.

"We are not just here to secure the area but to uplift the community. By supporting their livelihoods, we are contributing to their economic resilience, " stated Lieutenant Colonel Dian.

What made the initiative even more inspiring was the Soldiers' willingness to contribute from their own finances. Using personal funds, they purchased vegetables, fruits, and other produce from local farmers, which were then used to prepare their meals. This gesture, though seemingly small, demonstrated the Soldiers’ commitment to fostering meaningful connections with the community they serve.

Mrs. Rani Japugau, a farmer and resident of Yokatapa, expressed her gratitude with a beaming smile: "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless you all. This means so much to us."

The program received praise from Major General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, who highlighted the significance of such initiatives in advancing development in Papua.
